The house, as the clients bought it had an awkward kitchen from which they had to step down to where they would eat their everyday meals. Additionally the only bath on the first level was only accessed after walking through a sequence of several rooms including the kitchen. Our goal was to create a pleasing highly functional kitchen, eating area and family room as well as a powder room easily accessed from the formal main rooms of the home. There was the additional challenge that their home was the place that many neighborhood children would pile into after school; we met those goals. This Kitchen Remodel was featured in Better Homes and Gardens in October 2010.
